As part of the event dedicated to individual opportunities within the Erasmus+ Programme, Svitlana SHYTIKOVA, Coordinator of the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine, greeted participants and emphasized the significance of international exchange experiences for studying abroad as a tool for broadening horizons, professional development, and preparing for the recovery of Ukraine. The Erasmus Student Network (ESN) Ukraine team also joined the opening, conducting an interactive ice-breaking session and an exchange of views among participants using the integrated Mentimeter tool, creating a dynamic and open platform for communication and discussion of program opportunities.
The first session, “International Mobility within the EU Erasmus+ Programme: Academic and Youth Exchanges,” focused on the practical aspects of participation for Ukrainian students and educational staff. Kateryna ZHDANOVA, Senior Manager of the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine, detailed the core features of academic mobility, including procedures for finding opportunities and submitting applications, minimum requirements, objectives of learning exchanges, and key distinctions for different categories of participants. The ESN Ukraine team presented interactive cases and shared their experience in providing support to students during exchanges, highlighting the importance of social and academic adaptation while staying abroad. Furthermore, first-hand accounts from Ukrainian “Erasmus alumni”—students who had already participated in international exchanges in the fields of education and youth—allowed participants to learn about real-life stories, challenges, and successes. The session also explored the benefits of international mobility for professional growth, networking, and gaining practical skills, with interactive discussions facilitating an active exchange of ideas between participants and speakers.
In the second session, Kateryna ZHDANOVA presented opportunities under the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees. The speaker elaborated on the specifics of participation, global mobility, and studying at multiple universities. She also provided a detailed step-by-step guide on how to search for suitable study programmes and the stages involved in applying for the scholarship competition.
The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where participants engaged with the speakers and received comprehensive answers to their questions.
